Ailerons
The trailing edge of the ribs have been aligned and gussets are being glued on... Trial fit of the aileron spar is next... Notice the aileron end ribs are finished including the 3/8 OD bushing pivot hole... We had to work on the half round aileron nose ribs to make them follow the line of the end ribs... Notice before you try to close the 'D' section... You will need one 1/8 rib to double with a 1/4 rib for a plywood splice!
![]() The end ribs were set for a 3/8 end gap... We found the aileron length different than the plan dimension... [Notice how the wing diagonal braces are fastened to the bottom of the ribs mid span]...
![]() We put fillets in places that Leonard doesn't show just because...
![]() We decided to drill the hinge pivot before the aileron was cut out of the wing...
![]() ![]() The between ribs bracing is not shown clearly on the plans... there are 2-1/4 pieces and do be careful to see on the wing plan where that aft piece goes so you don't interfere with the aileron 'D' section later!
